Jessica Charlotte Poland a.k.a Charlotte Sometimes is from the big apple a.k.a New York. Her self released EP ‘Sideways’ is a great collection of piano and acoustic alternative rock songs, highlighting Charlotte’s unique voice. Take a listen to the upbeat ‘Call Me Up’ for prime examples of the song-writing talent here.
How did you get started?
I was a dancer since I was 3 years old, but it was always the music that got me. I picked up a guitar at 14 and never looked back.
What have you got going on at the moment?
I released an EP, Sideways for free. I am super excited about it. I am also doing some commercial work on the side, helping others write songs, and just doing anything creative that makes me happy.
Favourite music and why?
I love folk and Americana music. It’s great to chill out to and I never get sick of it and always come back for more.
Favourite book and why?
Prozac Nation. I think it’s a really interesting read. I am so insane so I could relate to a lot of the book. Though if I wrote it , it would be Cymbalta Nation. (laughs)
Favourite film and why?
Wall-e! I Love it! Disney and Pixar films are the best. Wall-e is so lovable. I am a sucker for a cute romance.
Best experience in the business?
Having my video on VH1!
Tell our readers an interesting fact about yourself?
I had a jaw disease and was slightly deformed for a few years in my life. My friends call me McRib face, because my ribs replaced my jaw.
Who are your role models/idols?
I don’t believe in idolizing anyone. Everyone has flaws, just be the best person you can possibly be and keep moving forward.
Hardest thing about the current business?
Everything!
