So Download Festival is just over 2 weeks away and we know it’s always so hard to pick who you go to see. There’s always so many news bands to check out along side some of your favourites at Download Festival and we figure if we give you a bit of a preview of each and let them introduce themselves to you, it may make your planning easier.
Enemo-J aim to blur the lines between genres and mix it up a bit with their energetic and lively shows. Their show at Download is set to be a big one. We’ll let them tell you all about it though.
Who are you and what do you do?
My name is Craig and I’m the vocalist
How did you get started?
Ten years ago I listened to a lot of rap music and felt that I needed to be onstage doing this, but there was no platform in the UK, then I bought a soundtrack for a film called ‘judgement night’ which featured rap/metal crossover – ice –t and slayer, cypress hill and pearl jam, biohazard and onyx. Metal then gave me more of a platform to get on stage and from that – the rap died down and the metal blood was in my veins
What stage and day are you playing at Download Festival?
We are playing the jagerstage on Saturday with Bowling for soup and Nick Oliveri from Queens of the stone age
What’s the best thing about playing Download Festival?
Knowing its probably the best achievement a metal band can get in the Uk and playing alongside Linkin Park and Rob Zombie
It’s truly unbelievable and I constantly have to pinch myself ha ha
Who are you most looking forward to seeing play at Download?
Linkin park – sorry some people may say that’s cheesy but I love Linkin Park, however, having seen Rob Zombie several times that guy truly can put on a show!
Have you got any surprises in store for you Download set?
It’s acoustic so that’s a surprise to anyone who has seen us before ha ha, however, watching the videos of previous bands on there I can say we will be moving around a lot more way more of a stage show
What’s your best festival memory either personally attending as a fan or in the band? And what’s your advice to all the festival goers?
We played download in 2010 it was surreal, having a drink backstage and Slash is there eating fish and chips and Corey Taylor is in front of me chatting to friends, advice I’d give is drink plenty of water watch out for friends and put the phone away watch with your eyes !
