So Download Festival is just under 2 weeks away and we know it’s always so hard to pick who you go to see. There’s always so many news bands to check out along side some of your favourites at Download Festival and we figure if we give you a bit of a preview of each and let them introduce themselves to you, it may make your planning easier.
With a 21st Century spin on the golden sounds of classic 80’s hair metal and hard rock, Mia Klose knows just how to rock. She’ll tell that herself.
Who are you and what do you do?
I am Mia Klose and I’m a singer, performer and songwriter! My stage performance and music is inspired by the golden days of classic melodic rock aka Guns n Roses, Def Leppard and Kiss. I love it when a concert makes you smile!
How did you get started?
I did my first stage appearance when I was three years old. I’m from a musical family so a career in music and show business has always been the natural choice for me.
What stage and day are you playing at Download Festival?
15.00 @ Jager Stage – Friday the 13th This will be a lucky day and I wanna see your pretty faces in the audience!
What’s the best thing about playing Download Festival?
I have been to Download one time before and I promised myself that the next time I went it would be to play. Now look at me two years later! So cool! And how about sharing the line up with Aerosmith, that must be a dream for most rockers!
Who are you most looking forward to seeing play at Download?
Winger! I love Winger but I have never seen them play! I’m keeping my fingers crossed it wont clash with any interviews I will be doing so that I can have a great relaxed time watching them and sing along with a beer in my hand.
Have you got any surprises in store for you Download set?
You will have to come and see the set to find out yourself! I wouldn’t be giving away any surprises beforehand as then they would not be surprises!
What’s your best festival memory either personally attending as a fan or in the band? And what’s your advice to all the festival goers?
BRING WELLIES!!! I went to Roskilde Festival in Denmark 2007 when there was drowning warnings going out in the news. It was like a warzone. But I decided to have fun anyway and had the best time of my life in the mud drinking beer with my best friend and singing Guns N Roses songs for everybody!
In terms of my best festival memory as an artist I must say playing in my home country at Sweden Rock Festival last summer! It was such a great feeling to have my first gig as a solo artist at the biggest music event in Sweden. I was so happy to be able to invite my family to the festival as VIP guests! I love making my family feel proud!
