SouLost – The Way I Feel Pt. 2 Review

SouLost The Way I FeelSouLost are back with their brand new EP The Way I Feel Pt. 2, which follows up the first part of the EP that was released earlier this year and marks a change of sound for the four-piece.

Opener Bring You Down pulls you into the EP with a great little simplistic introduction that sets the scene well before a fuller sound is added a little later. Featuring a catchy vocal performance and a great little funky bassline, it’s a powerful number that gets things off to a running start.

Middle track Without Me continues where Bring You Down left off, but unfortunately it’s more of the same and doesn’t quite pack the same punch, which is a shame. However, the EP does end on a high with a beautiful acoustic number, Save Me, which sees the band stripped back bare to bring the EP to a rather gentle and relaxed close, which is nice.

Although it has to be said that it’s not one of the most original or unique offerings out there, it is indeed an interesting and engaging listen, and is easy to connect with and listen to. However, it would definitely benefit from an extra track or two, as it feels like SouLost can give more than this.
