Primordial is a band that consistently releases great albums and Where Greater Men Have Fallen is certainly no exception to this statement as this is yet another sterling release from the Irish extreme metallers.
The title track also serves as the opener and it’s one of those songs you can envision them coming onstage to; the introduction builds things up and up and the track feels like a mini-epic as a result, especially when the second guitar line kicks in – with an opening track this good, you know that Where Greater Men Have Fallen is not going to be an album you’ll be forgetting in a hurry.
The album continues well and another great track is The Seed Of Tyrants, which is another faster number that features a particularly strong vocal performance. The vocals are half-sang, half-snarled, and fits the overall mood of the track perfectly.
The only – and rather nit-picking – issue is that at times, the vocals sound like they’re being forced out rather than properly supported, but it really is a minor nuance as this is an otherwise great album from Primordial – yet again!
