Silent Voices’ Playlist

silentvoices 2014

We’re big fans of Silent Voices here at Soundscape, and whilst we’re excitedly waiting for new music from the outfit, we took the time to quiz drummer Hurtsi about his music tastes and compiled a little playlist! Check the songs out below, and listen to it in full on our last.fm page!

A song that influenced him
Dream Theater – A Change Of Seasons

Shocked? 🙂 I guess it’s not a surprise to anyone that this band has had a huge influence on us. You can never underestimate the power of their first three albums. Wonderful stuff!

A song they wish they could have written
Ramones – Blitzkrieg Bop

Short, fast, loud, perfect. The biggest reason throughout the history for millions of kids to pick up an instrument and just play. You’d be envious or simply a fool not to have wished you wrote this.

Their favourite Silent Voices song
Beyond Shadows

It would be the most obvious and predictable choice to pick the upcoming single, but since that’s not the way I roll, I’m gonna go with Beyond Shadows!! 🙂 It just perfect, and the video is bat-shit-crazy too! 🙂

A song they’ve been listening to a lot recently
Sepultura – Territory

Speaking for myself, but this is one of my long lasting favourites. I will always be blasting out this one, and why not? It’s a perfect metal song in every way. Long live Max!

Their all-time favourite song
Frank Sinatra – You Make Me Feel So Young

I would have to say anything by Frank Sinatra, since that’s a good universal answer to an impossible question like this. 🙂 No one can come even close to comparison what this guy did musically and vocally. He is basically my god. 🙂 Anyway, picking one favourite out of them all is downright nutty, but I’m gonna go with You Make Me Feel So Young, even though Basil Fawlty disagrees with me. 🙂
