Editor’s Playlist: 08 June 2015

Yup, it’s that time of the week again – time for another new playlist to tide you over for the next seven days. Check out what we’ve been listening to below, or check out the playlist on our last.fm page!

Nekrogoblikon – We Need A Gimmick
Yup, Nekrogoblikon are back with a brand new and extremely excellent album Heavy Meta (our review of which can be read here) and if that wasn’t enough for you, the band have also released a brand new video for their track We Need A Gimmick! Trust us when you say this is a video you won’t want to miss watching!

Curse Upon A Prayer – Rotten Tongues
We were very impressed with the new Curse Upon A Prayer album Rotten Tongues so it was only natural that this band would crop up in this week’s playlist. The title track is a definite highlight, showing an effortless blend of black and doom metal into one stunning piece, and if you like this, then you’ll absolutely love the new album.

Project Silence – Flesh Of The God
We really like Project Silence here at Soundscape, so we were very excited to hear their new single Flesh Of The God and it absolutely didn’t disappoint. It’s one of those songs that grabs hold of your interest as soon as the introduction begins, sucking you into the music and immersing you in it as the ambience builds up into the full band joining in – so if this is anything to go by, then their future full-length album should be an absolute force to be reckoned with.

I The Mighty – The Lying Eyes Of Miss Array
Another band that recently appeared under my radar was I The Mighty, who released their album Connector last week. It’s an album you can’t help but love and is one of those releases you’ll find yourself singing along to before you can even stop yourself! Hit play, immerse yourself in the music and prepare to be impressed.

This Wild Life – Bound To Break
This Wild Life recently released Bound To Break as a free download single and it’s a nice little chilled-out listen with emotive heartfelt vocals and some absolutely stunning acoustic guitar for good measure. This is a track that shows you don’t need complexity and showy solos to make a good and memorable song, and it’s a track you’ll keep wanting to revisit. Great stuff.
