It’s been fairly quiet on the playlist front for the past month or so, but that doesn’t mean we haven’t been listening to some awesome music whilst this feature has been on a short break! So without further ado, here’s some great cuts that we’ve been listening to a lot here at Soundscape over the past month – check them out and get involved below.
Vorna – Ikuiseen iltaan
So yesterday, on my own birthday, I learnt that today, Vorna are celebrating their seventh birthday! So, what better excuse than to add them to this week’s playlist?! Ikuiseen iltaan is a personal favourite of mine from their debut album Ajastaika, so make sure you check it out if you haven’t already. The band has recently finished work on the follow-up to it, so keep your eyes and ears peeled for more news and music hopefully coming soon from them!!
My Dying Bride – My Father Left Forever
My Dying Bride’s new album Feel The Misery is an absolute blinder of an album. Of course, you could just take our word for it with our 10/10 review of it, but if you can’t wait another three weeks to hear the album in full for yourself, you can also get a feel for what to expect from it with the first cut revealed from the album, My Father Left Forever.
Glittertind – Ukjend Land
It’s no secret that I’m a rather big fan of Glittertind, but several months on from the release of their latest album BlÃ¥ne for blÃ¥ne, I still can’t get enough of it. It’s one of those timeless and magical albums that you’ll keep wanting to return to. Don’t believe me? Just take a listen to the striking opening track from it.
Amorphis – Sacrifice
Amorphis are currently getting ready to release their new album Under The Red Cloud. It’s pretty damn good, to say the least, and whilst you wait for our review of the piece to surface, just check out their track Sacrifice, which gives you a good feel for what you might be able to expect from the album. Keep an eye on the site for our review of the album coming soon, as well!
Whispered – Sakura Omen
With the exciting news that I’m finally going to be seeing Whispered after years of being a fan, this feels like the perfect excuse to include them in this week’s playlist. Sakura Omen is a brand new song of theirs and if their new album is even half as good as their previous efforts, it’s going to be something special. Just listen, and you’ll see what I mean.
