Release date: 27th April 2018
Man. After adoring Boss Keloid’s previous release Herb Your Enthusiasm I’d been eagerly awaiting their follow-up. However, Melted On The Inch just doesn’t quite grab me like their previous release and it lacks power and bite.
Melted On The Inch feels like a hard slog with no real reward at the end. Try as I may, I just can’t seem to connect with the album and it’s a shame because I want to like it. However, songs just merge together and it doesn’t seem like there’s any distinction from song to song, so it feels like one long song being projected at you and it’s difficult to appreciate as a result.
It’s disappointing because Boss Keloid are capable of better than this. Both on a musical and vocal scale, there’s a lot of talent to be found but this somewhat lacklustre piece doesn’t do them justice. Instead, Melted On The Inch just drags and leaves you wanting something a little more exciting.
It’s probably just me because there are plenty of people who have already posted glowing reviews saying that they loved the album. So don’t just take my word for it – pick up your own copy and make up your own mind.
