Wolfhorde are back with their second album Hounds Of Perdition and after being so impressed with their debut release, I expected great things with their follow up – and Wolfhorde did not let me down.
Hounds Of Perdition is a very strong piece of work. Wolfhorde are masterful with both their songwriting and performance, and it really is a fantastic listen. The whole album has a really full and powerful sound, and it’s just so polished and well-constructed – there’s not much to be faulted with it.
Opener Chimera really sets the scene well, with the melodic folksy sections giving the song an epic vibe, and it really packs a punch. It’s a bold choice having one of the longer tracks as an opener, but it’s just one of those songs that draws you in and keeps your interest from start to finish. Later track Kill The Light is another highlight; it’s one of the most melodically-driven songs of the album due to the majority of the song featuring clean vocals, and adds a nice bit of variety to the album.
Wolfhorde know what it takes to make a solid and memorable release, and they have once again delivered with album number two. Hounds Of Perdition is an album that has it all, and certainly cements Wolfhorde as a band that can do no wrong.
