Two seconds in, and I was already hooked. This album is incredible, and an early contender for 2019’s AOTY for me.

Helevorn – Aamamata
Track to check out: Goodbye, Hope

Sickeningly heavy with stunning melodies. What’s not to love about that?

Marc Durkee – Remain In Stasis
Track to check out: A Way To Escape

Dark and moody, with plenty of earworms to get under your skin. A stunning piece of work.

Dave’s picks

Callejon – Hartgeld im Club
Track to check out: Schlechtes Vorbild
Our review: https://www.soundscapemagazine.com/callejon-hartgeld-im-club-review/
Purchase link: https://www.nuclearblast.de/en/products/tontraeger/cd/cd/callejon-hartgeld-im-club.html

This album has got such good energy, great riffs and groovy bass lines. It’s almost perfect.

Örnatorpet – Hymner Från Snökulla
Track to check out: Älvorna Dansa Över Isen
Our review: https://www.soundscapemagazine.com/ornatorpet-hymner-fran-snokulla-review/
Purchase link: https://ornatorpet.bandcamp.com/

These glacial high notes hide a depth of beauty preserved in technology. It’s majestic tones are as if they were formed in the heavens themselves. This is all to say it’s really good and inspiring.

Oomph! – Ritual
Track to check out: Im Namen des Vaters
Our review: https://www.soundscapemagazine.com/oomph-ritual-review/
Purchase link: https://napalmrecords.com/oomph?SID=gjcuqs5ibuus74kqqo60q9fi82

Although not as catchy as their earlier works, Ritual has still got the same tongue in cheek humour and wry sensibilities that has helped propel the group through the years.
