Live Shows To Watch Whilst In Lockdown

If you’re anything like the Soundscape crew then you sure as hell are missing being at live shows. With the UK in lockdown for weeks and weeks to come I thought I’d share some live shows to watch to keep you going through these strange times.

Hans Zimmer: Live in Prague

Alright, this isn’t strictly rock or metal but it’s a stunning show from the legendary composer that does feature guitarist’s Johnny Marr and Mike Einziger. From his hugely successful 2016 European tour this DVD gives you plenty of variety from his back catalogue.

Download Festival Highlights 2019

It’s come as no shock that Download Festival has been cancelled this year. They’ve recently announced June 4th-6th as the new 2021 dates, make sure you save the date! Sky Arts have plenty of highlights from previous years to keep you going.

(Oops, they were on Sky Arts. We definitely do not recommend searching YouTube for said highlights)

Rammstein: Paris

We’re inevitably waiting for Rammstein to announce their June tour will be postponed due to the pandemic but luckily enough their Paris show from 2016 is available to stream. Once you get past the rough editing it’s an enjoyable show.

Oddly available on Amazon Prime

Rage Against The Machine: Live at Finsbury Park

What a time that was. What a gig that was. Rage Against The Machine defeated X-Factor to Christmas Number 1 and gave us a free concert in June 2010 as a thank you. If Reading Festival doesn’t go ahead, we always have this to watch for now.

Nine Inch Nails – Closure (1997)

If you fancy going a bit old school Trent Reznor released this “DVD” free of charge via torrents (when torrents were a thing) many years ago. You can still find the odd download link around but part one is still available via their Official Vimeo account.

Korn at Woodstock 99

It was a tough decision between Korn and Limp Bizkit. There are a lot of videos floating around from Woodstock 99 but to me Korn are just one of those bands whose live shows are still as intense now as they were back then. Trash your house to their full concert on MusicVault.

The K! Pit

The last couple of years have seen Kerrang! host some special intimate shows in London and the US. The K! Pit shows are streamed then uploaded to their YouTube channel. Some huge bands playing some tiny shows. From Parkway Drive to You Me At Six, Fever 333 to Sum 41!

Sabaton: Resurrection Fest 2017

This one is purely for Editor Natalie who recently traveled hundreds of miles to see them live! Resurrection Fest have a variety of bands for you to check out on their YouTube channel too!

The Prodigy (Live in Russia Parts 1,2 & 3)

Filmed in 2017 – The Day Is My Enemy, Their Law and Nasty really show off how powerful The Prodigy are live, along with the chaotic and passionate Russian crowd. This is my go to for when I’m working late to keep me awake.

Keep supporting your favourite bands. Whilst in lockdown many are doing live streams, Q&A’s and releasing new merch. Or go hunt down your favourite bands live music videos and make a YouTube playlist for you to rock out to during lockdown. I’ve started my Live Playlist.
