Guildford based rockers SOTSP self release their debut self titled mini album on the 4th March, their first with new vocalist Artit Aukko joining Steve Coleman – Guitar/vocals, Russ Poke – Guitar/vocals , Rob Dowall – Bass and Callum Swift – Drums.
Having crafted their sound over the last couple of years whilst supporting the likes of You Me At Six, We Are The Ocean, Mallory Knox, Young Guns & Don Broco to name but a few they’ve delivered a solid debut mini album with the new line up.
This seven track offering kicks off with ‘The End’, a drum building intro leads into a instrumental section before the vocals kick in blending the popular mix of vocals and scream lyrics combined. Â ‘The End’ starts the album off in a fine way and certainly wets the appetite for the remainder of the mini album.
‘Don’t Look Down’ is the first single taken from the album and for me is a favourite amongst a strong collection of tunes. You can check out the video below.
‘Can’t Move The Moon’ brings the pace down but shows as well as being fans of guitar riffs these guys can deliver at the other end of the rock scale.
Overall the mini album shows that these guys can write good quality tunes, I can’t find a weak moment on this debut which to be honest excites me! Having never heard of the band before this offering dropped on my desk I’m kicking myself that I hadn’t before and will certainly be seeking out a live performance in the near future. I recommend you do the same.
