Bauda – Sporelights Review

bauda sporelightsSporelights is the beautiful new album from atmospheric prog outfit Bauda and it is a stunning listen that makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end.

What is particularly good about this album is that the vocals are used more as another instrument rather than remaining in the lead role at all times. They have this wonderful ambient tone to them and add a great deal of atmosphere to the tracks whilst not being overpowering nor taking the focus away from the music itself. It’s a nice touch and really makes the tracks flow so well from one to the next.

A particular highlight of the album is the stunning Tectonic Cells. Opening with a catchy little earworm of a guitar riff and building on it throughout the track, it ensures the song becomes one you won’t forget and the instrumentation as a whole has a great showy complexity to it, which makes for a wonderful listen – you almost don’t know which way the track is going, keeping you on your toes throughout.

As a whole, Bauda have created something rather stunning with Sporelights – trust us when we say you don’t want to miss this one.
