Black Crown Initiate – The Wreckage Of Stars Review

black crown initiate the wreckage of starsSometimes, you can just tell when a band is going to be the ‘next big thing’ and if Black Crown Initiate’s new album The Wreckage Of Stars is anything to go by, they are surely going to become a force to be reckoned with in the coming months.

One of the most important things about crafting heavier music is the balance between melody and aggression, and Black Crown Initiate have absolutely perfected this. The aggressive and heavier sections are absolutely crushing, and the harsh vocals are truly something to behold due to the sheer power behind them. Meanwhile, the melodic parts inject a beautiful lightness into the music that really helps divide the tracks up and it gives the music that special sparkle, showing that this band isn’t just about writing songs that are as noisy and heavy as possible.

Flowing well from one song to the next, with highlights including Malignant, a song beginning with a beautiful little acoustic section before you get slapped in the face with a brutally heavy part, and Withering Waves, which features one of the catchiest clean vocal sections ever, this is an album that you’ll quite happily listen to over and over again without skipping a single track.

If you’re looking for some progressive death metal that is fresh, exciting and unique, then look no further than Black Crown Initiate because The Wreckage Of Stars is an absolute blinder of an album.
