Dearist’s Playlist

In about a month from now, Wolverhampton emo/grunge/shoegaze band Dearist will be releasing their new album Sonder. Ahead of its release, we decided to get the lowdown on the music that makes them tick.

A song that influenced them
Taking Back Sunday – Better Homes And Gardens
For me I always look at Taking Back Sunday for inspiration, and Better Homes and Gardens from their Happiness Is album inspired me when writing Sonder. Stripped down parts and huge choruses is what it’s about.

A song they wish they could have written
Radiohead – Creep
For me it has to be Creep by Radiohead, it’s the anthem of Teenage Angst for generations to come. It’s a song that sounds great loud, acoustic or in a completely different genre to the original, a very diverse tune.

Their favourite Dearist song
Leecher
My favourite Dearist song is Leecher which was our first single taken from our debut album This House Has No Windows.

A song they have been listening to a lot recently
Fangclub – Bad Words
Fangclub is one hell of a live band that we had the joy of supporting last year and ever since, I’ve been hooked on their debut album!

Their all time favourite song
Pink Floyd – Wish You Were Here
I really don’t have an all time favourite song, as it changes depending what mood I’m in, but a song that means a lot to me is Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd.
