Dynazty – The Dark Delight Review

Release date: 3rd April 2020

The Dark Delight: delightful by name and a delightful listen. I’ve been a fan of Dynazty ever since I saw them supporting PAIN about four years ago – their music is always seriously catchy and addictive, and always makes you want to come back for more.

Album number seven from the Swedish power metal outfit shows no signs of stopping; it’s an energetic piece jam-packed full of some serious earworms. It also doesn’t feel like Dynazty is using the same tired old formula for each album, as it sounds fresh and exciting with every listen. Opener Presence Of Mind instantly gets things moving, drawing you in with a captivating stripped-back introduction before hitting you with a fuller sound and a really catchy chorus.

Later track Waterfall is absolutely massive – I can already imagine it sounding absolutely epic in a live environment, and the vocal performance is something to behold. And as for the closing title track – well, talk about saving the best for last. It’s emotive, moving, energetic and really helps to sum the album up well by bringing together the strongest elements of the piece into one singular entity, and really ends things on a high.

All killer and no filler, that’s the best way to describe The Dark Delight. Dynazty have really outdone themselves this time.

9/10
