Future Talk is a new UK band with a strong sound and a fire in their belly. The Path that Sadness Paved is only a 4 track EP, but as a debut release it’s not only a solid release; but it promises so much more from the Gloucester outfit. They have a pop rock sounds that’s melodic and catchy as hell.
The short EP starts off with Sleeping Pills. It won’t take too long before you’ve at least got the chorus down because it’s that damn catchy. Shadow Poet is a beautiful melodic number with big choruses and a hook loaded bridge. Up next is The Cliffs As A Reminder. It’s a poppier number that will have you top tapping and snapping your fingers along in a heartbeat. Although it’s not an overly upbeat number, it still gives off a fun vibe. Final track Fear Life is a big number that just gets bigger as the song goes, hitting a massive crescendo before its finale.
The EP deals with some deep themes and Future Talk’s lyric and musical abilities shine through despite the short nature of this release. Expect a follow up to further showcase the skills of this Gloucester four piece.
