Ghost Of The Avalanche – Body Snatchers EP Review

Ghost Of The Avalanche - Body Snatchers EPAfter impressing everyone with their debut EP Hide The Truth, Ghost Of The Avalanche are back with their next offering, Body Snatchers.

Not even reaching the five-minute mark with its four tracks, it feels somewhat like it’s over before it begins and leaves the listener wanting a little more. Whilst this is usually a good approach with a release, it could also be said that the listener isn’t quite given enough and it’s a shame.

That’s not saying the songs aren’t good because each one of them is striking in its own way. Opener and title track Body Snatchers is a mere 14 seconds long but still manages to leave an impression on you with an all-out projection of noise and energy that sets things up nicely for the more substantial Prescribe This, which starts with a downright funky little bass riff before treating you to a wonderfully catchy chorus line.

Things keep moving at a rate of knots with short-but-sweet Monkey Knife Fight that’s certainly been made for a live environment before winding things up with the fantastically-titled Dance Party which is certain to get people moving and dancing about to it!

All in all, Body Snatchers is a great EP and really builds on the foundations that were laid with Hide The Truth – the only problem is that it’s over before it begins! Taking an extract from the lyrics of Prescribe This – I need some more!
