Infestum – Les Rites De Passage Review

Release date: 1st January 2018

The newest album from Infestum, Les Rites De Passage, is another fine offering from them and serves as one of those albums that you’ll keep wanting to come back to – there’s so many cool little elements that it’s impossible to take it all in after just one listen.

Les Rites De Passage is an excellent listen with plenty of excellent inclusions to sink your teeth into. For instance, fifth track Digitus Dei is a definite highlight – the synth lines add a lot of power to the track and the vocals sound absolutely mighty, packing a real punch and adding a great harsh element to the track that juxtaposes well against the more melodic lines.

Admittedly, it doesn’t hit quite as hard as their prior releases, and it’s more of a grower, but that just means you need to listen a little more closely in order to fully appreciate the album. The darkness lurking beneath the music is spine-tinglingly good and the repeating melodies intertwined into the songs really get under your skin and stuck in your head as Infestum drive the point home.

As a whole, Les Rites De Passage is a very good album. Infestum have delivered again, and if you haven’t yet heard of this band, then this is a good starting point for you to take!
