’68 are a band I stumbled across supporting Every Time I Die a few years ago. Whilst the venue hadn’t filled yet and those of us in early who were not brave enough to venture close did not deter the band from getting stuck in and grabbing those willing to get involved. They took what could have been an awkward opening slot to a fun memorable band I’d go home and follow up.
Dressed in suits the duo ooze swagger onstage, combined with a powerful presence and natural rapport with any crowd it’s no doubt the band would eventually pick up traction they deserve.
Not new to the music venture ’68’s singer and guitarist Josh Scogin has had quite the extensive career as former singer of The Chariot and Norma Jean. ’68 are not quite the young band as we first thought having released their first EP in 2013. Yet it only feels like in the last few years the band has made its mark with tours and releases. Named after his father’s old Camaro the band may be little in numbers and look innocent but they sure make up for it in noise and creativeness. Scogin hand-drew and animated their recent single ‘Bad Bite’ which you can watch here along with putting together a documentary during lockdown 2020, which you can watch a teaser for here.
‘Give One Take One’ is the third album from Atlanta duo and out now via Cooking Vinyl. It’s loud, it’s in your face, it’s a breath of fresh air amongst the rock scene.
