Could you introduce yourself and tell us about your band?
We are a thrash/melodic death metal band, called Centura. As of right now, we are a two man band, Nathan Beaty (bass/vocals) and Shay Santiago (guitar/vocals). At the time of this writing, Nathan is 24 years old, and Shay is 25 years old.
When did the band form?
We formed in 2011.
How did the band form?
The band formed when Nathan was asked to play bass by two former members of the band. We quickly learned/wrote songs together and began playing shows.
Who are your biggest influences?
We try to go for a unique take on thrash and death metal. Some modern metal bands who influence our sound are The Black Dahlia Murder, Revocation, Skeletonwitch, and Havok, along with a slew of classic extreme metal bands of all varieties.
What’s the biggest show you’ve ever played?
We opened for Nile in February of 2013.
How would you describe your live show to someone who hasn’t seen you yet?
High energy, fast, loud, and angry.
