Who are you and what do you do?
I’m Kyle, and I play guitar, and with me is Brad who plays guitar and Keys, Kehn who provides lead vocals and Tom who plays bass and plots total world domination.
How did you get started?
The band formed from the remains of a college music project. Joe and Tom, our drummer and bassist needed a guitarist for the their final performance. They asked me to step in, and after it was all finished with, we started jamming and formed the band from there. We found Kehn and he took the mantle of our vocalist, and we formed under the name Brayford. Shortly after we wanted to progress in a different direction and changed the name to ‘They Say Fall’ and Brad joined the band.
What’s it like to make it to the final eight of the Red Bull Studios competition?
It goes without saying that we are all absolutely ecstatic to make the final 8! It’s so good to see all the hard work starting to pay off, and we’d like to thank everyone who has helped get us to this point. We’ve had the best time in the Red Bull Studios Live At Download Opportunity so far, and it’s only going to get better!
Have you got any surprises in store for you Download set?
We have our absolute best set yet prepared for the show, and we’ve been working tirelessly on it for the last few weeks. We promise that anyone who comes to watch our set will not be disappointed! Chills and spills are guaranteed throughout!
Who are you most looking forward to seeing play at Download?
Seeing Linkin Park playing Hybrid Theory in full will be incredible as it’s an album that’s been very influential on us, other than that: Dillinger Escape Plan, Zoax, The Offspring, Memphis May Fire, our friends in Breathe in the Silence and Create to Inspire and the legendary Powerman 5000!
What’s your best festival memory either personally attending as a fan or in the band? And what’s your advice to all the festival goers?
On the way to watch The Devil Wears Prada open on the Saturday in 2011, an absolute legend ran past us, backpack high up his back, about 38 years old, air drumming his heart away as he ran towards the main stage. That was definitely one of the many highlights we’ve had attending the festival, we’d be here for a long time if we listed them all! Our advice to festival goers would be, pack wet wipes, because the toilets get really grim! Pack more beer than you think you need, there’s not much worse that running out, and come and watch us when we play! It’s going to be a stormer!
