With all the talk of ‘supergroups’ in the past year or so, you’d be hard-pressed to find one as understated yet brilliant like Young Legionnaire. Led by The Automatic’s guitarist (and former yourcodenameis:milo front man) Paul Mullen, with Gordon Moakes of Bloc Party on bass and I Was A Cub Scout/La Roux drummer Will Bowerman on drums, you’ve got yourself a powerhouse of noise and intrigue. Having released an epic throwback to great punk rock bands of yore with ‘Colossus’ they’re on there way to some interesting places. Catch them at this year’s Swn Festival on Friday night in Chapter Arts Centre.
