Ion Dissonance’s Playlist

Next month, Ion Dissonance will be releasing their new album Cast The First Stone – keep your eyes peeled for our review of it in the coming weeks! Ahead of its release, we caught up with vocalist Kevin to get an insight into his musical tastes and influences. Get involved below!

A song that influenced him
Meshuggah – Neurotica
Jens is basically rapping over the music. It’s catchy, it’s groovy and I aspire to do the same with the way I place my lyrics and vocals.

A song he wishes he could have written
The Temptations – Papa Was A Rolling Stone
A classic in its very essence. Soulful and fresh.

His favourite Ion Dissonance song
D.A.B.D.A State Of Discomposure or Pallor

I like D.A.B.D.A. for what it represents to me. There’s a hidden concept that isn’t so apparent even when reading the lyrics. Also, this is a unique song for the band. We stepped outside our boundaries and tried something new. Pallor is also a favourite track for me.

A song he’s been listening to a lot recently
Big L – Street Struck

Old tune, but I’ve been playing Lifestylez at the office a lot lately. I’m all about them classic hip hop albums.

Their all time favourite song
Snoop Dogg – Doggy Dogg World

Pretty much changes every year making this a tough one…. Lets go with Doggy Dogg World from Snoop’s first album Doggystyle. Not what you would expect, but growing up that was my jam. I can recite the lyrics to that entire record front to back.
