Project Silence – Infinity Review

Release date: 28th September 2018

We rather like Project Silence here at Soundscape, so we were very excited to hear the news that they would be releasing a brand new EP. Entitled Infinity, it brings together the elements that made their previous releases so good, and is quite possibly their strongest release yet.

At seven tracks in duration, it’s perhaps a little on the lengthy side for an EP, but you’ll get no complaints from me here! Each of the songs are good in their own way, with some taking a more melodic route whilst others are more heavier and aggressive. There’s a decent amount of variety, which helps to keep it all fresh and engaging for the listener as you’re never quite sure what to expect next.

Unsurprisingly to absolutely nobody, my personal highlight of the album is penultimate track Anthropophagite. The beats at the start paired with the subtle synth line really grab your attention, and the way the track builds up and up once the vocals are added is a very nice touch. Additionally, the ending with spoken words rounds things up nicely and helps progress the EP almost seamlessly to the final track Day Of Reckoning.

If you haven’t familiarised yourself with this talented band yet, then this is a very good starting point. It’s a powerfully engaging EP, and a release you will keep wanting to return to.

9/10
