Sassy Kraimspri – Cock Fight II Review

Cock Fight 2If you like your music energetic, noisy, to-the-point and downright dirty, then look no further – Sassy Kraimspri is a band that will be right up your street. Their EP Cock Fight II may only be three tracks long and about ten minutes in duration, but it packs a tremendous punch and leaves no room for doubt that this is a formidable offering.

Opener Like A Drug begins with an earworm of a riff that festers into an explosive instrumental section before the vocals kick in. Whilst on the surface this is a track that could perhaps be seen as being rather simplistic, there’s a lot going on if you listen a little closer and it’s an all-round funky little number set to get a few feet tapping along to it. Following track Riot is another strong track, featuring a magnificent and engaging vocal performance from powerhouse frontwoman Sassy Kraimspri.

The final track of the three, Say What, is perhaps the weak link of the three. It doesn’t quite have the energy of the other two tracks, which is a tad disappointing – especially as I was fully expecting the EP to go out with a bang, rather than slow things down with a slower-paced track. It’s a good track, but doesn’t quite have the momentum of the other two.

As a whole, Cock Fight II is a satisfying listen and if this EP is anything to go by, then this is a band that will surely be an absolute riot live!
