Singled Out: Don Broco – Uber

Don Broco recently released track ‘Uber’ taken from their upcoming album ‘Amazing Things’. It kicks off with dream-like synths and angst vocals. Its retro vibe, which matches their recent style, is an interesting match with lyrics that depict a night out waiting for an Uber and the out-of-the-ordinary situations the band found themselves in.

From a recent press release the band state –
“This was the first song we started writing for the album a few years ago touring the States,” say the band. “Within the space of a week three separate ‘Uber’ drivers were openly racist in front of us, I guess assuming as white guys we’d share their views. ‘Uber’ is about being angry about that, being angry that racists seem to be growing in confidence to speak their hate in public and it’s a reminder to me to call out that discrimination whenever I see it.”

Don Broco continue their passion to push boundaries following also recently released track ‘One True Prince’ which had huge Deftones vibes. ‘Amazing Things’, the bands fourth album, is set to be released 17th September.

The band having just headlined Slam Dunk will head out on a UK this October.
