Regular Soundscape readers will be familiar with Skarlett Riot, we reviewed the bands excellent ‘Villian’ EP and interviewed them last year, and I really believe that this year will be the year that it blows up for the band in a big way.
January 28th saw the release of the bands first single, ‘Faded Memory’, from the forthcoming album ‘Tear Me Down’, due for release on March 25th.
The single has had national and regional radio play and is an great piece of driving, modern rock with Skarlett’s trademark excellent vocals.
We spoke to the band while they were out playing a couple of shows with Heavens Basement, to ask them a couple of questions.
Where did you record ‘Faded Memory’? In Axis studio, Doncaster.
What is the song about and what does it mean to you? Â Its a ballsy summer rock song. Boy meets girl in the summer, they fall in love, but unfortunately they grow apart & lead separate lives. The song means a lot to me but in a different sense. We should live for today and do what makes us happy. That’s the most important thing.
What’s coming next for Skarlett Riot? We release our first album March 25th. We can’t wait. We will be touring the all over the UK to support the release!
I’ve been lucky enough to hear the album and it really is great. The band have definitely produced an album worthy of getting them up to the top with the cream of the UK’s rock talent.
