Sleepmakeswaves – Made Of Breath Only Review

sleepmakeswavesWell, this is something a little bit special. Made Of Breath Only is the new album from instrumental post rock outfit Sleepmakeswave and it’s a beautifully spellbinding listen that you’ll just fall in love with after listening to it for the first time.

Made Of Breath Only paints a stunning picture over its duration and what’s nice is that everything just feels linked together. The album is almost like one continuous track and there’s only a fuzzy line at best between each individual song on the piece, yet it’s clear that each track has its own individuality, so it’s almost like the album is a track that simply has ten different sections – which is good because if there wasn’t much variety as the album progressed, it would swiftly become a dull and unengaging listen. Instead, Made Of Breath Only keeps you on your toes and keeps you interested in hearing what route Sleepmakeswaves will take next.

What’s particularly good about this album is that it’s not in-your-face; Sleepmakeswaves take an almost relaxed approach with their presentation of the piece and subsequently there’s a nice air of intrigue to it all – it’s almost like Sleepmakeswaves wants you to fill in the blanks with your own interpretations of the music at time so it really makes you think as a result! It’s an interesting approach to take, but it has really paid off for the band.

In short – this is a flawless piece, and Made Of Breath Only is not something you’ll want to let pass you by.

10/10
