Day 05: Served Dead – Servants Arise
Black metal can be very hit or miss. It has a tendency to all sound rather similar to one another, so I suppose it’s a genre I’ve become a bit more picky with over the years. This, however…this is very good. Served Dead don’t do anything groundbreaking with Servants Arise, but it just sounds pretty exciting and invigorating.
With plenty of riffs, powerful vocals and energy, Servants Arise really hits the spot. It’s just a shame that this, their debut, was released in 2010 and they don’t appear to have done anything since…because I’d have been really interested in checking out more from these.
