Soundscape’s Inverse Advent 14: Nox Ultima – From Delirium to Catharsis

Opened up the inlay to find the band had described themselves as “cold Finnish black metal”. Well, that’s one of the best sorts of black metal so surely I’m going to enjoy this one!

Day 14: Nox Ultima – From Delirium to Catharsis
Well, yes and no. The music is good, and it’s exactly My Sort Of Shitâ„¢, but the sound quality isn’t great. And I don’t mean that in the sense that it sounds like it was recorded on a Fisher Price recorder, because it doesn’t. It just sounds muddy and the mix isn’t quite right; sometimes the drums really drown out everything else and you can’t hear the rest of the band for shit.

I just wish I could hear everything a little better because there is a lot of potential. I’m wondering if their live sound was any better because I adore the energy the music has.
