Soundscape’s Inverse Advent 16: My Grimace – Grim Serenades

So for the second day in a row, I’ve opened up a CD I’ve already heard! But this time is different; I’m actually a fan of this band and own a physical copy of it as well! So for this one I’m not going to be lazy and copy & paste the review I’ve already written, as I actually really like this album!

Day 16: My Grimace – Grim Serenades
I discovered My Grimace in Finland, where they were one of the support acts at my very first Vorna gig. They were pretty good, but it was the band’s debut that really elevated them to me.

Grim Serenades is just great, featuring some absolute bangers of tracks. It’s a wonderfully developed album, and I really wanted to witness the band play live again after properly familiarising myself with their music…but as far as I can tell, the band is sadly no longer active as the last sign of life from them on their facebook page is a post from December 2016. Pity. Abandon All, Leave The Mourning Behind is still a song I keep coming back to several years later.

Recommended track: Abandon All, Leave The Mourning Behind
