Soundscape’s Inverse Advent 19: Frostland Darkness – Ad Moriendum Dei Gratia

Ask and ye shall receive! Finally, something I haven’t heard!

Day 19: Frostland Darkness – Ad Moriendum Dei Gratia
I can’t say I’m surprised that this was black metal when I hit ‘play’, judging by the band name and the very grim and kvlt picture in the inlay! It’s actually not too bad; feels like it could have a bit more energy at times because some parts feel downright dirgey and like they aren’t going anywhere.

Although Frostland Darkness isn’t going to win any awards for originality, as there’s nothing about Ad Moriendum Dei Gratia to really set it apart from the tonnes of other Finnish black metal bands out there, it’s still a decent enough listen and I definitely think this one is going to go into my ‘keep’ pile.
