Suasion – The Infinite Review

Release date: 27th January 2023

Well, talk about impressive. Although The Infinite is Suasion’s second full-length, this is the release that has served as my introduction to this talented band, and what an incredible listen it is! Playing metalcore fused with electronic for good measure, it’s a sublime blend and Suasion have knocked it out of the park with The Infinite.

For starters, the songs are all just so catchy. Each track seems destined to be stuck in your head and the vocals in particular are very strong – the massive choruses backed by a wall of sound hit you really hard. Trapped, one of my personal favourites, is a very good example of this. The track goes very hard; it has a fantastically fast pace and the electronic section somehow manages to sound brutally heavy, which juxtaposes really well against the colourfully emotive clean vocals.

In fact, The Infinite just starts strong and doesn’t let up for one moment. The first full track Murphy’s Law (which is led into beautifully by a hype-inducing introduction) kicks things off with a bang and sounds absolutely massive, and Black Or White has one of those choruses you’ll soon find stuck in your head.

Equilibrium meanwhile sounds like it will really kick some ass in a live environment, thanks to the chunky guitar lines and the hypnotic electronic melodies that pair perfectly with the massive vocals. The Infinite then winds down with a softer instrumental number, Naught, which brings things to a very satisfying close, chilling the album right down after all the energy, momentum and noise of the previous tracks.

Put simply, The Infinite is stunning inside and out. Definitely an early contender for AOTY for me, and I am very eager to see how these tracks translate in a live environment as soon as I get a chance.
