Last week, The Pariah released their new album No Truth – you can pick up your copy from here. We caught up with them to get a peek into the music that makes them tick.
A song that influenced The Pariah
Counterparts – Compass
When we founded The Pariah, Counterparts’ latest release was The Difference Between Hell And Home. We all love the mixture of melodic parts and rough breaks. I think that you can still hear the influence in some of our current songs, but not as much as in older releases, haha.
A song they wish they could have written
Toto – Africa
That song got some serious attention in the last year. Apart from that we’re generally listening to a lot of 80’s stuff on the road.
Their favourite The Pariah song
We all have different favourite Pariah songs, so here’s an overview of our current favourite songs:
Mitch: Silent Birds
Rouven: Regression
Julle: Comfort Zone
Paul: Second Skin
Henning: Monolith
A song they’ve been listening to a lot recently
Roosevelt – Wait Up
After a show and after listening to harder stuff for the whole evening, sometimes some chilled out tunes are more pleasant to our ears. That song has a really relaxed 80’s vibe and a catchy bassline. Definitely one of our favourites!
Their all time favourite song
Since we all listen to different kinds of music, we don’t have a common favourite song. Also we think it is really important to have different influences, since we don’t want to copy any sound but create one that we all like. These are our all time favourite songs:
Mitch: Counterparts – Outlier
Rouven: Foo Fighters – Best Of You
Julle: Toto – Hold The Line
Paul: Modern Baseball – The Thrash Particle
Henning: This Is Hell – Permanence
