Singled Out: The Lion And The Wolf – My Father’s Eyes

the lion and the wolf my fathers eyesMy Father’s Eyes is the latest single from The Lion And The Wolf, and it’s another powerful and moving piece from him that will remain with you for all the right reasons.

There’s a lot of emotion and substance to the music that Thomas George creates and this is no exception. My Father’s Eyes is a homage to his father, who had a heart attack and survived last year, and the simplicity to the music works well and the sparse instrumentation lays everything bare for the listener to see – there’s no need for things to be overpowered with technical showy sections – what you see is what you get here.

My Father’s Eyes is a heartfelt and quietly beautiful piece, really striking a chord with you, and the b-side Bar Stools is a nice little addition that completes the single and rounds it all up well. It’s just a rewarding listen and one that you’ll certainly want to keep returning to.

As a whole, this is a great listen and if this is the standard we are to expect with his next full-length release, then we’re all in for an absolute treat!
