Twilightfall – The Energy Of Soul Review

TwilightfallThe Energy Of Soul is the debut release from Twilightfall. A band formed by already-established musicians, it’s a well-polished and substantial offering that will certainly please fans of the melodic death metal genre.

There are some really strong tracks being showcased on the album and a particularly great inclusion is penultimate track Go A Long Way To Each, a track that is the perfect blend of melody and aggression. Starting off quite softly, it sets quite a relaxed and chilled-out tone before an all-round chunkier sound sets in and what’s great is that the heavier section still has all the melody of the introduction, yet with added aggression for good measure and it works exceedingly well. There’s also some absolutely excellent guitar-work throughout, which really helps to make the track one to remember.

In fact, as a whole the album is littered with good and solid numbers, and it’s a refreshing listen as a result. Twilightfall certainly haven’t gone into this half-heartedly and you can almost hear the effort gone into crafting the songs, which is great – each song is unique in its own way, yet they all gel together, meaning the album flows well.

The Energy Of Soul is an all-round great album and make sure you keep an eye on this band because they are surely going to go far.
